Hello from the other side!
My name is Elisa and I am a travel and photo addict with a passion for adventure and beauty around the world, always hungry for more! As a kid I wandered though the local library for travel guides, mostly about the US at the time. At the age of 16 I was determined to explore our beautiful planet myself. My trip to New Zealand and Hong Kong in 2001 got me hooked on travel. Life became a journey.
If you can dream it, you can do it! [Walt Disney]
I set up my first travel related website in 2005, and my first travel blog in 2006, all focused on American destinations. But hey, how could I know back then what travel blogging would look-like in 2016…?! I studied abroad and worked hard. Started with peeling tulip bulbs from the age of 10 to earn my first own money. I worked as promotor for studies in other countries, earning the US minimum wage. And eventually, worked my way around the world. My motto is: work hard and enjoy your travels harder!
A friend of mine passed away during her honeymoon trip in 2010. This is still my biggest inspiration to travel as much as possible. Life is short, you should do what you want to do and enjoy it while you can!
Borderless epicurean, travel addict, passionista on the go… there are many ways to describe me. Hopefully you’ll perceive me as engaging enthusiastic. My experiences during the past 15 years in 40+ different countries (still counting…) gave me some interesting insights, stories and knowledge to share. Things you do not find in the average travel guide. I hope this website will help you to enjoy your own trips to the max. Despite the fact that I am not a native English speaker, I decided to write this blog in English as I like to be in touch with people from all over the world.
While surfing my website and reading my blogs, you might notice that I enjoy traveling in many different ways, from road tripping on Cuba, to trekking the mountain villages of Sapa (Vietnam), cruising to the Bahamas, city trips combined with concerts in New York or Paris, horse riding in Ireland, staying and cooking on an Italian farm (agriturismo), etc. etc. Although I have visited some great countries up to 7 times, I really like variety and hope to inspire you to do the same, in your own unique way.
If you think that advanture is dangerous, try routine. It’s killing.
